American People’s Fix

Posted on April 21st, 2010 by admin in first american realestate solutions | No Comments »

We are a group of real estate and mortgage professionals who have witnessed the degradation of our once great industries first hand. As business owners and former executives in major corporations, we have had enough. The negative effect the overvalued homes and investment properties have had on the financial well being of our associates, friends and families must be corrected. Unfortunately the Government, Wall Street Firms or Lending institutions are not helping us. We simply can not trust Government, Wall Street Firms or Lenders to provide a solution; they created this mess. We have formulated a viable fix to “THE REAL PROBLEM”.

Did Housing Policy Cause the Crisis? – John Sununu

Posted on April 12th, 2010 by admin in first american realestate solutions | 9 Comments »

Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2009/09/01/Financial_Fiasco_The_US_Infatuation_with_Home_Ownership

Former Senator John Sununu (R-NH) gives an insider’s perspective on the federal government’s role in causing the financial crisis. Sununu claims politicians supported much-maligined organizations Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac because “they didn’t want to appear to be anti-housing.”

—–

How was it possible that in a world where thousands of people regulated financial markets the whole system crashed down? And should we now give more power to central banks, government agencies, politicians, and regulators? Isn’t that what brought us here in the first place?

Financial Fiasco digs deep into the foundation of the economic meltdown, revealing how it was the product of conscious actions by decisionmakers in companies, government agencies, and political institutions, and by consumers. Financial Fiasco tells the compelling story of how rate-cutting by the Federal Reserve inflated the real estate market and fueled increased risk-taking in the financial markets; how new government policies to promote home ownership blasted air into the credit bubble; how new financial instruments, credit-rating requirements, and accounting rules intended to prevent cheating backfired; and much more.

Financial Fiasco guides readers through a world of irresponsible behavior, warns that many of the “solutions” being implemented are repeating the mistakes that caused the crisis, and offers guidance on how to move forward. – Cato Institute

John Edward Sununu (born September 10, 1964) is a former Republican United States Senator from New Hampshire. Sununu was the youngest member of the Senate for his entire six year term. He was also its only Arab-American member during his time in office. He is the son of former New Hampshire Governor John H. Sununu.

Peter Schiff: Americans Still Believe in Santa Claus

Posted on April 9th, 2010 by admin in first american realestate solutions | 22 Comments »

“The reason we’re in trouble is not because the housing bubble burst. We’re in trouble because it inflated in the first place. We’re in trouble because while it was inflating we were recklessly borrowing and spending money. American citizens borrowed trillions of dollars from people all around the world and we blew the money.

Now that the bills are coming due and we’re just too broke to pay them, we’re seeing an implosion in these markets. Real Estate prices are coming back down, Americans are having to stop spending, credit is contracting – none of this is the problem. This is all the solution. This is all the consequences of reckless consumption and borrowing.

What we need in this country is more savings and less borrowing. We need more production and less consumption. But everything the government is doing right now – all the economic stimuli, all the bailouts – they’re designed to perpetuate the problem, to get us deeper into debt, and all they’re doing is throwing gasoline on the fire.”

FEMA: The Early Years

Posted on April 6th, 2010 by admin in first american realestate solutions | No Comments »

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, is an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security, initially created by Presidential Order on 1 April 1979. The primary purpose of FEMA is to coordinate the response to a disaster that has occurred in the United States and that overwhelms the resources of local and state authorities. The governor of the state in which the disaster occurs must declare a state of emergency and formally request from the president that FEMA and the federal government respond to the disaster. FEMA also provides these services for territories of the United States, such as Puerto Rico. The only exception is when an emergency or disaster occurs on federal property or to a federal asset, for example, the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, or the Space Shuttle Columbia in the 2003 return-flight disaster.

While on-the-ground support of disaster recovery efforts is a major part of FEMA’s charter, the agency provides state and local governments with experts in specialized fields and funding for rebuilding efforts and relief funds for infrastructure, in conjunction with the Small Business Administration. FEMA also assists individuals and businesses with low interest loans. In addition to this, FEMA provides funds for training of response personnel throughout the United States and its territories as part of the agency’s preparedness effort.

Louis Onorato Giuffrida was the Ronald Reagan administration’s first director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency from 1981 to 1985.

Giuffrida graduated from the University of Connecticut (B.A.) and Boston University (M.A.).

He had a lengthy career in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of colonel in 1968.

In 1971 he left the Army and organized the California Specialized Training Institute for then California Governor Reagan. The institute trained state employees in emergency management and police in counter-terrorism activities.. It was during this time that Giuffrida became friends with Edwin Meese.

He also served as an advisor on terrorism, emergency management, and other special topics for Governor Reagan. He was eventually promoted to the rank of general in the California National Guard.

Giuffrida was confirmed on May 18, 1981. At the time of his nomination Giuffrida was president of the Specialized Management Services Co. and director of the California Specialized Training Institute.

During his tenure at FEMA, Giuffrida developed much of FEMA’s civil defense programs, including Continuity of Government.

Frank Charles Carlucci III (born October 18, 1930) is a former government official in the United States, associated with the Republican Party. He was United States Secretary of Defense from 1987 until 1989.

Carlucci served as chairman of the Carlyle Group from 1992-2003, and chairman emeritus until 2005. He also has business interests in the following companies: General Dynamics, Westinghouse, Ashland Oil, Neurogen, CB Commercial Real Estate, Nortel, BDM International, Quaker Oats, and Kaman. Carlucci is Chairman of Envion USA, and former director of Wackenhut. He is a senior member of the Frontier Group, a private equity investment firm founded by Sanford McDonnell and David Robb. Carlucci is an Advisory board member of G2 Satellite Solutions and the Chairman Emeritus of Nortel Networks.

He is affiliated with the Project for the New American Century, or PNAC, a neo-conservative think tank. He formerly sat on the Board of Directors of the Middle East Policy Council. He is Chairman Emeritus of the US-Taiwan Business Council. Carlucci is a member of the Board of Trustees of the RAND Corporation and founding co-chair of the Advisory Board for RAND’s Center for Middle East Public Policy.
