Ok my dad was enlisted in the Navy back in like 1985, and has always wanted me to become a naval officer (because they have it the easiest), now..he never wanted me to actually stay in the military, just go to college 4 years be an officer for 4 years and get on with my life..

now i actually want to join as an officer and retire, but i feel like i got to do something different…and this is where he disagrees to the point that he basically said do what you want its your life, and i dont support your choice at all.

So im a freshman in college, been at it for about 7 weeks.and im unemployed. but school going good, i have almost all a’s in my classes, but its difficult cause i have the constant urge to party and have fun ALL of the time, so i dont really have time to study as much as i should. so basically i think im to immature to know when to put fun and school sepretally and know when to say no to one and yes to another…

So what i want to do is I want to Enlist in the Miltary, i want to be a CTM. I figured what I could do is take the money i get each month, save up and invest into realestate, rent out the houses and make some extra money, by the time i get out in 4 years ill be alteast sitting on 3 houses each getting about 500 a month from.

after those 4 years i think ill be mature enough and responsible enough to go to college and know when fun time and school time are supposed to happen, I can get the G.I Bill which pays up to 40k in tuition, and go to any college i want pretty much, ill know what i want to get my degree in and can concetrate on school. I will also not have to worry about a job because ill still be receving money from my rent each month. after my 4 years are complete at college, ill go back into the Navy, but as an Officer.

My dad says that its the most ignorant plan in the world, that if i do it, i WILL fail, and have regret it my whole life. and im not sure if he’s just saying that because he’s afraid of me growing up (im 18), or if he actually means it. cause i think its an actual good plan that will work in the end.

I guess i kinda want someone to analyze my situation and tell me whats going on with my dad, and how can i convince him that by me just taking this little detour of enlisting, go to college, and Then going in as an officer, is acutally a good idea.

My husbands family is all military. HIs brother just retired as an Officer in AF, he’s 53. He has 3 sons and he did not want any of his sons to go into AF because of the war and the future wars. None of the boys are college material. They tried, but could not stay in. Two of them have joined the Coast Guard and love it. They went in w/o telling their parents. The other one tried to get into the Navy and CG, but he could not pass his physical. He is the only one with 4 year degree too. He was told they could not guarantee an Officer spot though.
I have to say he was not happy that they did not go in as an Officer, since their pay stinks, but he is now so proud and happy they are there. It is very difficult to become an Officer now, because of the military money that is going to the wars, so they are actually asking officers to retire early, like him. I would go ‘talk’ to someone at your college, ROTC or make appointment w/Navy recruiting and see what they say. Of course getting your 4 yr degree is the best, but they also pay for college and give you money. At the same time, you have to do what you want. It is a lot easier to go in as an officer, but that may be harder nowadays. No matter what, you will do great. Good Luck.

Heres the story:
She was at a realestate convention and was suposed to take classes the next day. She was once friends with this girl lets call her marry*. Marry and my mom were in a partner ship that broke up badly because Marry was not doing her job. SO needless to say it was not a good break up. My mom was at a hotel and she was being followed by a group of people seh was with friends but seperated soon after to meet up later. She was alone and the group with Marry followed her until she was alone they tried to get her to go into the elevator and Marry was rubbing it in my moms face that she was higher up than my mom and my mom said I am glad to hear that and Marry said well I cant say the same for you right now. My mom said the way they did it everything they planned it. After that my mom was like ok well I can see where this is going I will see you guys later kinda thing and she turned to walk away.
Then some girl from the group came after and hit her from behind and she hit her so hard ahe could not fight back the girl kept hitting her in her face and chest and stomach areas. My mom has implants and she thinks the girl popped one and has an appointment to get them checked out and her checked out to see if there was any other inguriies.. This random girl jumped beat the crap out of her and there was 4 other poeple watching that were in Marrys group and they all just sat there and laughed. after my mom was bleeding and after being hit so many times they all just left her and were laughing. You would think that there is enough there for a case and to get a restranning order but the thing that sucks is that none of this was caught on hotel cameras they can lpace her at the hotel because she was staying at that hotel but they cannot place Marry and her group with my mom. So my mom is badly hurt she cant breath right and she will be going to the doctor to see the inguries she has,
Can you please tell me where my mom stands right now and does she have a chance if she got an attorney and tried to get a restrainging order or tried to get her band from the business conventions if there are any that she has to attend. She is scared that they will go after her again she remembers what the girl looks like but she doesnt even know her name and she did file a police report but she is scared to go forward becasue she does not think she has a case and she doesnt want them to win and they will come after her again for trying to press charges. Please let me know where we stand and what we should do!

I am asking if it sounds like we have a case or if there is anything else we can do right now we are just stuck because they have no proof that they did this to her please only answer if you are going to help me not just tell me something that was already done!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I’m 16 years old, and I dropped out of highschool. I was going through a really terrible time…my sister had just died and I used drugs to help cope with the pain…I started skipping class everyday to get high and it was like a downward spiral.

I wasent addicted to hardcore drugs or anything, but being in school just wasent and isent going to work for me.

I’ve been out for a while now and I’m completly sober and doing a million times better…I’m not going to go back to school because if I did I would just fall back into my old life.

Even though I don’t get into any trouble, I can see it hurts my parents to watch me doing nothing with my life.
I’m a truant so I don’t think I can get a job or go to drivers school because my parents would get arrested if the police found out I wasent in school

So what can I do to get my life together despite the fact that I’m a truant? I want to get my G.E.D and go to realestate school, but I think you have to be a certain age and i’ve heard so many bad things about G.E.Ds like there pointless and you can’t get a good job if that’s all you have…

So could someone explain about getting you’re G.E.D, and what are the benifits of it, and how old you have to be..ect.

And if its possible to get a job when you’re still a truant?…

I guess I’m kinda asking what my options are and if you could explain them to me.

I feel like I’m still young and I can still get my life together…I’m just confused on how.

Why not do some volunteer work. It is a great way to get experience, it keeps you busy and will look great on a resume.
