Help with legal question. My mom got jumped by a friend of an ex friend is there something we can do?
Heres the story:
She was at a realestate convention and was suposed to take classes the next day. She was once friends with this girl lets call her marry*. Marry and my mom were in a partner ship that broke up badly because Marry was not doing her job. SO needless to say it was not a good break up. My mom was at a hotel and she was being followed by a group of people seh was with friends but seperated soon after to meet up later. She was alone and the group with Marry followed her until she was alone they tried to get her to go into the elevator and Marry was rubbing it in my moms face that she was higher up than my mom and my mom said I am glad to hear that and Marry said well I cant say the same for you right now. My mom said the way they did it everything they planned it. After that my mom was like ok well I can see where this is going I will see you guys later kinda thing and she turned to walk away.
Then some girl from the group came after and hit her from behind and she hit her so hard ahe could not fight back the girl kept hitting her in her face and chest and stomach areas. My mom has implants and she thinks the girl popped one and has an appointment to get them checked out and her checked out to see if there was any other inguriies.. This random girl jumped beat the crap out of her and there was 4 other poeple watching that were in Marrys group and they all just sat there and laughed. after my mom was bleeding and after being hit so many times they all just left her and were laughing. You would think that there is enough there for a case and to get a restranning order but the thing that sucks is that none of this was caught on hotel cameras they can lpace her at the hotel because she was staying at that hotel but they cannot place Marry and her group with my mom. So my mom is badly hurt she cant breath right and she will be going to the doctor to see the inguries she has,
Can you please tell me where my mom stands right now and does she have a chance if she got an attorney and tried to get a restrainging order or tried to get her band from the business conventions if there are any that she has to attend. She is scared that they will go after her again she remembers what the girl looks like but she doesnt even know her name and she did file a police report but she is scared to go forward becasue she does not think she has a case and she doesnt want them to win and they will come after her again for trying to press charges. Please let me know where we stand and what we should do!

She filed a ploice report!!! I am asking if it sounds like we have a case or if there is anything else we can do right now we are just stuck because they have no proof that they did this to her please only answer if you are going to help me not just tell me something that was already done!!!!!!!!!!!

You do have a case.
If she was injured badly enough this becomes an aggravated assault. Which by law means she received serious bodily injury from another. This ex-friend you call Marry, should be contacted by a detective assigned to the case. If she doesn’t give any information on the person who assaulted your mom, she could be charged.
After the detectives gather what information they need, and have information on the suspect (person who assaulted mom), the detectives will sign a complaint against this person.
I don’t know what the police have told you to this point, but that is how the process works.
If mom only had minor cuts or bruises on her, it is only a simple assault, and sometimes police depts. are too busy to pursue something like that. But it doesn’t mean mom can’t pursue it. Mom can still say Marry was there, and leave it up to court.
