im looking to buy my first house where do i start?
we want the govenments first home owners grant. and happy to build in a new estate. by the way were in victoria/australia.

Unless I missed a more recent article that states that the incentive has been extended futher, note the deadline to qualify for your government’s incentives. You only have 3 weeks to close on a house. See below:
The Government’s offer expires on June 30 of 2009 so first time home buyers will need to act fast in order to take advantage of the higher rates being paid out.

you start by calling bank that u bank with and get a pre approval letter
basically i tells you how much u can borrow and what you can pay
after setting up a price range, u can start look on internet i suggest franklymls.com, redfin.com. after u pick a house in ur price range, talk to the bank again and have them customize a loan for that house
then call the agent up and make an offer.
U can hire a buyer agent help you out ( i have bad buyer agent exp, so i dont recommand)
make sure u look at house around what the price sold for.
if the price is right, and u feel right. u found ur home
